Does anyone have experience of the new Salamander RP100TU? If have just installed one to replace my leaking ESP100. ESPs no longer available this is the replacement universal pump. I have had 2 ESPs previously both running in Neg Head mode. The first had P,N switch on the side, the second needed to be powered on and off in a specific sequence to change modes. I cannot find a method to change mode for the RP100TU and wonder if it is entierely automatic! Anyway the pump works but takes several seconds of shower dribbling before pump cuts in. I suspect it's in positive mode and is relying on the flow swicth to activate. I contacted Salamander tech support, who's advice was to increase the expansion vessel pressure to 38 psi. This has improved it a bit, but its still not like the ESP100, which I suspect worked on a pressure switch in Neg mode so that as soon as a shower valve is opened the pressure drop is imediately detected and pumps kicks in. This explains why ESPs would periodically fire to retore pressure if a shower was left dripping. The RP100TU does not do this.

So my question is: is there away to switch and RP100TU into Negative mode, or have Salamander replaced the ESP range with an inferior pump, at a superior price I might add?

Thanks - Shaun

Did you get any resolution on this one? I have just gone through exactly the same experience, including Salamander’s advice of increasing the PSI. I had the pump with the switch and then the pump with the start up procedure and now this one. The older pumps were just simple, though I preferred the first one with the switch.

The only extra issue I have is that the upstairs of the house completely relies on the negative setting, or there is no water in half the house without engaging the pump by turning on a downstairs tap. Very frustrating. Any advice will be much appreciated.

in upstairs bathroom- do you have handheld shower? if so bring it back to the floor level and try to run the water, if is in neg mode it might activate (I had similar situation couple of years ago) btw salamander pumps this is last recommended brand to my clients, pumps that I have installed in the past had guarantee 2 years and has started to leak just over that period
pay more get more- monsun by ST - pump run up to 7-10 years depend on the usage frequency, if will start to leak you are buying service kit for around 50 quid and you can enjoy of your pump for another couple of years (till bearing will go :) )

Thanks for the tip, but didn’t work. Very disappointed in this pump, the old ones were so simple.
