If you don't know, I would advise you to contact a qualified electrician in order to carry out this work :)

Too much aggro - it's not like I'm going to be buying lots and often...

BUT is Screwfix a shed or not? It's owned by Kingfisher owners of B&Q ;)

    An on-line shed?

Perhaps I should suggest to IANA that they create a new TLD - .shed

The we could have www.screwfix.shed www.wickes.shed etc ;)

What a credit to your profession you are.

BTW -I might be the first two, but I am certainly neither incompetent nor a cretin.

Ah BAS, must take issue with you there.

One is not allowed to be self-certified as being "competent" that can only be some body and you need to grease palms with silver for them to say so, or not.

I'd love to see that defence in court:-

M'lud, I am not a qualified electrician, neither am I registered with a Part P Scheme because in my opinion Approved Document P was written by a drunken politican. I also don't care about the H&S Act 1974 and regulations made under them i.e. EWR 1989 and their definitions of a competent person. I am BAS. I am Non-Sparky. I and I alone decide whether or not I am competent or incompetent. Not you, you rasicst fascist. Me. I know everything and I know you're job better than you. All judges and legal professionals are murderous, theiving, law breaking scum bags and I hope you all rot in jail. Now, if you'd kindly tell this court baliff to let go of my arm so that I can go home and fit this SWA gland to my new DAB radio and connect it directly to my cut head BEFORE the main fuse, I shan't lose my temper'

That would be a fair stunt that 50Hz being as the fuse carrier is inserted is an integral part of the Cutout/Head! ;)

Before the Meter but after the Cutout would be far more do-able and productive!

Well I've never used them so can't say for sure but they are probably as good as any others.
Don't think I've ever bought a 'bad' gland pack from anywhere.
