Seal MDF before using gripfill or adhesive

Wondering if there is any point or need for priming/sealing the unexposed bare side of MDF skirting boards like back, bottom and sides?

Will sealing the back affect the use of an adhesive like gripfill? Make it grab better perhaps and stronger?

No imo.
I never prime.

Consider polymer grab vs grip fill although I'm using 90% foam with a few blobs of polymer grab to hold. Not that I fit much

who knows if you’ve got time to split the atom. I generally only use stixall, sticks like **** or instastik foam.
