Second referendum

I see that remainer politicians are promoting an idea of a second Brexit referendum. Typical of politicians, they have been told by the electorate to leave the EU but they can't agree how to do it so they shovel the responsibility back to the electorate in the hope that we'll change our minds.

They did it with Ireland, Greece etc.
Why do you not think they will do it to us...with the help of our Traitorous politicians ?

What amazes me is after seeing the way the EU political Gestapo has reacted to us...and how our so called neighbours and friends in Europe behaved....that there are still people who think it's a good idea to continue to be members of that failing corrupt club and bail them out to the detriment of Great Britain.

I think the 3 way choice proposed by Greening is a great idea, get a consensus on what the public want (instead of don't want) once and for all.

It's really simple, simpletons: you just keep voting the way you want.

Easy.

And let everyone else do the same. It's democrasomething.

As it's now been proved beyond doubt that the referendum was corrupt perhaps in the name of democracy it should be re-run.

In sport if you win a medal and are found to have cheated the medal is taken from you, in an academic exam your award is rescinded if it's shown you cheated - only in politics in the UK can it be shown cheating has taken place ( and the matter has been handed on to the police!), and whatever result the cheating caused is just accepted as OK.

This is either not democracy, or we are all mad for just accepting it. UK politics is a cesspit.

The VoteLeave issue certainly brings the validity of the Ref into question.

Personally I think the final "deal" does need a public vote.

When you hear Rees-Mogg using the Ref result as some kind of mandate for his own personal ultra hard Brexit its quite clear that there needs to be a democratic confirmation of the final "deal"

Brexiteers oppose it as they know they would lose.

If they believed that they have public support they wouldnt be scared to put it to the vote

Could you explain at the outset how many goes you wold like if the result does not go your way again, just wondering

Democracy took place in the first instance

Hey buddy, welcome back.

Let’s let Mr Farage answer that:
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/nigel-farage-wants-second-referendum-7985017

Before he knew Leave was going to win, Mr Farage said that a 52-48 result (in remain’s favour) would mean there should be a second referendum.

He seemed to suggest that only a 2/3 majority (2/3 is a common benchmark when changing existing rights) should be considered decisive.

Rejoice, my friend! Surely more referenda is more democracy?

Isn’t it fun? We can keep calling each other racists, morons, snowflakes, libtards, Marxists, traitors and fascists for years to come until one side wins with 2/3 of the vote - or we tear our country apart, whichever comes first.

At last the voice of reason, what about the best out of 10 ? :)

Corruption took place the first time or are you happy for elections to be rigged?

Best? Neither side show their best nature in these acrimonious discussions.

If it were “best” out of ten, it’d still be a nil-nil draw.

Tell you what. It’s easier if we just raise our children and grandchildren to hate each other. Let’s see how many generations we can continue this feud.

Obviously my descendants will win, after all, yours will be descended from ill-educated fascist scum and mine will be virtuous and noble citizens-of-the-world.

Oh, unless there’s knife fighting involved, in which case our liberal carcasses are toast.

(I trust your sarcasm scanner is sensitive enough to realise that I’m joshing).

Oh dear. Didnt Breitbart run it as a headline. Do keep up.

Sorry but I’m not into cherry picking headlines from obscure sources, what election was rigged by the way Chippie, if an election was rigged I would expect more than a fine, remember Watergate and impeachment
