Second referendum

Lol! My words are all still there for anyone here to read. No twisting by me, although I had later repeatedly advised on how to read and interpret the English language. ;)
Was I ever thought of as a “tentative” Leaver?
Hope not. I never wanted to be part of an EU with unnecessary hulk of MEPs and others.
As you can witness, I rarely am self defensive unless somebody, deliberately or mistakenly “twists” the meaning of my wording.
Yes, I must have a cool drink on this very hot Sunday to celebrate Brexit. :p
Finally, -
Could all of the Remainers, both politicians and public, please begin to work at the eventual EU exit? We are definitely not remaining.
Please also consider that had the vote gone the other way and the Remainers won, we Leavers would have had to work with YOU on continued membership of the EU and with the risks that would have brought us all, with no chance of escape from the EU.

'Tentative' is perhaps not the right word, Heat - sorry. But I do recall (tho' it might be different if I were to try and track down your origins) that when you first appeared, you were not like the rest of the u-s on here, but came across as someone who wondered and was considering the issues.

And, yes, you are right - your words above are there for all to see and to take their impressions of you on.

Been caught out again DA?

Of course I did...
Never mind , DA has the uncanny knack of misinterpreting every post on here. Someone asks about paint for an internal job and DA suggests masonry paint for everything ( misinterpreting that as a job for the outside of the house ) He misinterprets posts negative to the EU as either racism, racism, or even more racism

or the horrible long tube like one that leaves a terrible after taste?

That's the one.

It does appear to be some kind of club where the UK was reluctantly admitted and required to pay huge sums each year to be a member, in return we are told what to do, bombarded with silly rules, forced to let any Tom Dick or Harry in to enjoy our hospitality and subject to gradual erosion of our sovereignty. At the same time our subscription money is shovelled into countries that don't deserve it. That's why most people want to be out of it. Leaving the EU will definitely benefit the UK.

The claims about our trading situation collapsing are remainer scare stories, there's nothing to stop us trading with EU countries, maybe a bit more hassle but it will be same for both sides and they'll soon get together to sort it. As for services, we're miles better at running services than any of the EU countries and we can easily stay ahead of the game.

The populations of beneficiary EU countries are worried to death that the gravy train, supplied in part by the UK, will dry up and the net paying countries are just waiting to see what happens. The way things are going it looks likely that we will walk away following the antics of Michel Barnier.

Phew, thanks for that 'arry. We can all sleep well now.

Worst part of this is that it has utterly divided the politicians and the country. I can't see the divisions healing soon either.

Are you hoping - like me - that'll it'll be a full, crash-out, 'hard' one?

That's my preference but I'll be happy if Dominic Raab can do a deal whereby we achieve the main aims i.e. Retain sovereignty, full control of borders, no read across regulations, not answerable to the ECJ, no payments to the EU, control of our territorial waters for fishing, not involved in CAP, but I don't think our team are tough enough to achieve all that. A full walk away, hard, call it what you will brexit, be the best for the UK. The best piece in our armoury is the growing threat that we'll go for a "hard" Brexit, Dominic Raab should play on that.
