I need to run power to an outbuilding. I have no problems with using SWA and digging 450mm deep.

However, at the same time I want to relocate an oil tank alongside the shed and run water into the shed. Obviously, both will be done using suitable materials.

Can anyone point me in direction of guidelines regarding whether all three can go in same trench or does electric have to be separate and if they can, is there a minimum separation distance.

I had a look at section 7.13.3 on tlc site, but this makes no mention.

Dont know if this will help, but from a Telecoms/Data point of view the separation distances are detailed in CENELEC EN 50174.

    The following are general guidelines:

Minimum trench depth should allow for 600mm / 12in cover from top of cable.

    Separation from power
    75mm / 3in of concrete
    100mm/ 4in of masonary
300mm/ 12in of well tamped earth

Separation from Gas, Oil, Water etc
    150mm / 6in when crossing
    300mm / when parallel

The above may seem a bit over the top, but then we dont make the rules do we?
