Hey all, I'm hoping I did the right thing, I went to see a mate that's over 70 the other day, it was a cold day and I saw a gas hob accessory on top of his electric hob (gas cooker). I thought his kettle had broken down at first, but then it stayed on during my visit. I found out he was using it to heat his house as his hot air heating system had broken down at the beginning of the year (10months before hand). I gently suggested he used a few of my spare oil filled radiators until he can get it mended (estimated at £1000). I did warn him they could cost more to use than his gas hob idea, but to my mind it would be a lot safer. I can't imagine that with windows shut, using gas to heat can be healthy. He also used big fan heaters to keep the place warm as well, which must cost more money than electric rads, I guess they would work quicker though. Cheers, Chris
