Shower mixer come away from wall fitting

Please can someone advise, my shower fitting has come away and I cannot see how it will fix back, when you put the shower part back into the wall it's just comes loose again, I'm not sure if I've lost a part of it, don't recall anything falling off. Sorry for my lack of knowledge. As you can see the shower part has a thread but it doesn't seem to have anything to screw into.

On the piece fixed to teh wall is a small hex head grub screw. Push the threaded piece back in to te appropriate depth and tighten the grub screw using an Allen Key (or a small flat screw driver as a temporary method).
