    Hi all,
Inherited a surface thermostatic shower mixer valve in our new home. Guess it's 3-4 years old. "Victorian" design 2 lever - outside - off/on flow rate - inside temperature.
Worked fine for a couple of years up to last night when the off/on flow rate lever changed from ~ 120 degree total rotation with "off" at 12 o'clock to continuous rotation - it can be turned round and round. The shower can be turned off if you find the correct position by chance, but it's no longer at 12 o'clock - could be anywhere!
It's as if something has come loose inside the mechanism and assuming it's a ceramic disk type operation, the port alignment disk is no longer firmly attached to the operating lever.
No operating or fitting instructions handed over. No manufacturer ID.
    Photo attached.
Any ideas re manufacturer/fault finding/repairing gratefully received!

Looks like a Bristan 1901 shower, but not sure it is as the white plate with H&C on normally has bristan written on it.
You would need to take apart and see if there are any part numbers or brands on the cartridge. May be worth sending a photo and contact a site like…

Best thing to do is take photos as it is, then take the handles off to reveal the cartridge. You may have to unscrew or pop off the white cap at the front to reveal a screw, and also the long white handle may unscrew, it’s difficult to say for sure.

That's great info - will follow up.
    Thanks!

Had another look and, as you say, there is no Bristan name on the handle. Also, my mixer has top and bottom outlet with blanking plug in the unused outlet.
Anyone else recognise it? Maybe a Chinese copy of Bristan!

A good site this is, definitely worth sending photos to these as well as national shower spares that I put above
