Shower Tray Replacement

Hi all, i have been looking for quotes for someone to install a shower tray (1700 x 700). basically we have a crack in our current one so we have bought new - exactly same size. We do have a shower enclosure (sliding doors) but it's just a standard one. I have had a mixed bunch of quotes and so I wondered if someone can advise on how long it would generally take to take out the old one and install the new one. I thought that it would be around a full day based on the original install, but some tradesmen are saying several days. Thanks in advance for your help!

Timber floor? concrete floor? On a raised platform or flush with floor???
I would hazard a guess at 2 days possibly more depending what they find when the old tray is removed.
How long the previous install took is of no relevance. Perhaps corners were cut and that is why you now have a cracked tray - you haven't said what caused the crack.
Day 1 - Carefully remove enclosure, including removing all traces of silicon from frame and wall tiles. Remove old tray. Check existing base and repair/rebuild as required.
Floor/ floor joists etc may need attention and this could add further days to the job. Install new tray. (Possibly)
Day 2 Fit enclosure and silicon all joints as required.

The important thing is to try and employ someone on recommendations rather than time or cost to do the job.
Good luck and hope you get it sorted.

Hi, it's a timber floor and tray has to be put on to a raised platform to allow for the pipework below which is what the existing is. We have opened the front part of the tray and can see the timber structure that was in place as the original support. Not sure whether not correctly supported or if was caused by something being dropped (we rent the property out)

Thanks for your help. So around a full day to do majority of the work and then maybe an hour or two for the remainder.

Thanks again
