Silica?

Hello,
A few weeks ago a house behind mine was completely knocked down and rebuilt. Once the workers got the frame done, they started putting on the roof tiles.
They spent about 3-4 weeks putting the roof tiles on. Countless times a day (say every 10 minutes?) You could hear and see them grinding/cutting/sawing the roof tiles to size which created LOTS of dust flying about in the air.
by the looks of it, they wasn't wetting anything.

Is there a chance possible silica exposure could have occurred?
How dangerous is it?
could the wind have blown it closer or away?
How long would it take for any issues to arise if anything?
Would this be enough to cause a terrible disease such as silicosis?

the house is not directly behind mine, but 2 along from the back. so they are probably about 100- 150 foot away and roof height in the air.

Hopefully you guys can help me on this, as it does cause worry

Don't worry the dust will be blown away from 2 houses away unless you are directly down wind and can actually notice the dust on you and taste it (believe me you will know) you will be fine, we all breath in dust every day from traffic off the pavement even talcum powder from babies bums, where do you think the stuff you hoover up and wash off the windows comes from. Silicosis is a disease from continued exposure often in an enclosed space like a coal mine. As for the twits that work with building dust all the time without a mask, well they are the ones that should worry not you.;)
