Am replacing two old and defunct PIR lights. Bought LAP model E27 from Screwfix. Old lights have Black, brown and grey (& earth) cables, and complex internal wiring to the PIR unit. New lights have just L and N terminals, and earth. I assume black cable is switched live, brown is permanent live, and grey will be N? Is this correct, and if so which should I connect to the L terminal in the new light? My feeling is to attach black to the L terminal, grey to N, and tape off the spare brown, so that I can over ride the light using the wall switch. Advice welcome! Paul

Testing would confirm which conductor is which. The switched live ,and neutral and earth would connect to the fitting if you want to use a switch to turn the fitting off.
