I see that MP's have decide to "relax" the rules on expenses: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mps-expenses/8405614/Expenses-bill-to-soar-as-MPs-force-watchdog-to-relax-rules.html Now that is a surprise!
Sometimes I wonder if a benign dictatorship would be better than democracy. Oh no! I forgot. We had that with Bliar & Broon
Well, I reckon, we should let them get on with it. Then at the end of the year, investigate all of their claims. Anyone found to have falsified or fiddled expenses, goes to court and gets a minimum 18 months inside, barred from holding public office ever again, doesn't receive any pension. Second homes, confiscated and sold to pay back any suspect expenses and fund the building of a hostel for MP's in central London. Anyone using the second home as a tax benefit (ie selling it and claiming this is their main home) gets the same justice the expenses fiddlers receive. Sounds fair and equitable to me. Warn them all now that any fiddles like this will not be tolerated. Let's see how many abuse the system then. Whether its £10,000 or even 10p, treat the fiddlers the same.
