Firstly, i hope i am posting in the right forum. If not i apologise.
I am having a gas cooker installed and i believe i need to move the socket used for ignition and was wondering whether there was any regs that i need to follow. Currently the socket is about 3inch away from the right of the cooker at the same height as the hob (definite fire hazard) and was thinking of running the cable to the rear centre of the cooker, maybe about 18inch of the floor. The cooker only needs a plug with a 3amp fuse. Gas pipe runs along the right of the cooker, about 18inch of the floor.

    Any help greatly apprecaited

dont think it matters as long as it dosnt get damaged or wet, and you use heat proof flex to cable the oven up.

Remember CORGI suggest a 50mm seperation between gas and electric runs with a required minimum of 25mm so to get a gas safety certificate you must comply.
