Hi , have just moved into new home in North London , Victorian build. We are noticing a lot of sounds from next door, TV and kids playing etc. Has anyone any ideas on some good soundproofing and don't mind losing some space on the walls, we also have electric plugs on wall so need to sort those out as well. Many thanks in advance.

Google resilient bar Mark, that's generally the most effective, as it creates a 'floating' mass that is decoupled from your existing wall.

Hi. Genieclips worked really well, definitely did the trick where soundproofing is concerned. From what I understand they seemed a lot easier to use and more foolproof than resilient bar. I read that with res bar, when you screw the plasterboard onto the res bar, you can screw right through into the studwork if you are not careful, which stops them working so well.
