Does anyone know what causes this and what it could be?

Try tooth paste and damp cloth.

    Any under floor heating?

We moved in 4 month ago, We were told we have underfloor heating, that comes on with the heating , although we can’t feel it often

Leak in wet underfloor heating, the blue being central heating additive leaching up? What do you think @Wayners?

So will we need to lift tiles up?

Don't jump the gun yet, just a suggestion. Just looking at the photo again it does look as though the stain pools out from a straight line following the lay of the tiles which may be indicative.
Wait for experienced plumbers on here, there are a number. You don't know whether you have a blue additive in your heating system I suppose?

Believe it or not some cleaning products can cause blue staining, you hardly had a spillage and it was left on it overnight

You are not aware of losing any pressure in your central heating are you?

It will surely get larger if a leak is the cause.

Just to monitor it take a couple of close up pics to see if it is spreading over time. I was going to suggest drawing a line round the stains but don't want you to risk marking the tiles.

Edit - just saw Astra's post!

Use some masking tape to edge it.

Is it wet/damp to touch, compared to the tiles that aren’t stained. Zooming in it doesn’t look like the grout is wet/stained. What is the pressure on your boiler reading? What type tile are they?

Not damp or wet, pressure is 1 and not sure on the type as haven’t been here long and floor was already in
