Steel container below the fusebox?

That is not a fusebox. It is a CU. Please don't confuse with incorrect terms.
As professional electricians we all know what the op is referring to!!!

If you were to visit your GP and state you have an injury to your shin, does your GP then insist it’s your tibia? Etc, etc etc.

Of course not!!!

The GP is professional and not pedantic!!!

@jero This thread is going to ramble on unless you can post a meaningful picture.
Unfortunately my X-Ray specs don't work over the Internet.
Undo the two securing screws and reveal the innerds of the metal box under your fusebox. Then all speculation should be dispensed with.

One more time. He does not have a fusebox.

One more time, I dont care, nobody else cares, everybody knows what is meant when every day terms are used. Why dont you go and do something useful, your attitude to life makes you a perfect candidate for being a traffic warden. Why not try that.
Have you ever thought back and wondered why you were bullied at school?
PS, I love the way that you jump at the bait every time!.

The shin is a perfectly acceptable and correct word for that part of the body. Whereas fusebox and CU are completely different things.

It is NOT an everyday term. It is an incorrect term for a consumer unit.

Why don't you go and do something useful.

Correcting mistakes is useful if people will only learn.

Have you ever thought back and wondered why you were bullied at school?

I wasn't.
