  2. Is it an old bracket for an aerial to clamp it to a timber

Looks like a tank of some sort, difficult to say as can't see the side, but looking at the connections I would say it looks like some sort of heat exchanger. However, 2 of the pipes are capped off so possibly not. I've not seen anything like that before so it's simply a wild guess.

It's a TV aerial bracket, as above.

Looks like an old coal fire back boiler to me

There's pipe connections on 2 corners. Not so obvious until you bow the picture up.

Bit too heavy for an aerial bracket, and no fixing holes. Appears to be cast iron as well. I admit that it's a bit thin for a back boiler, but could it be a secondary heat exchanger for the flue?

  9. Ah so there is, I see the brass fittings now I look closer.

Thanks for the information. I'd also find it too heavy to be an aerial bracket, although that makes more sense for it being in the loft. There is a flue from wood burner in the house so perhaps it had it to heat up the water. But the central heating has been warm air from day one in the house. (Of course it could have been brought in from another house?)

Its a back boiler here is the front view...the nagle is to create the draught and draw the fire up the back plate/
