Stumped!

    Fitted a CU on a TT system 100ma 30ma RCD etc everthing worked fine, now 30ma intermittant fault, keeps tripping, but works fine again.
    Checked RCD & ramp test, crabtree 1 & fine

    Any ideas?

    Get a new intermittent. They're always giving trouble.

    Been trying L&N together & Earth at plugtop, IR test
    Must have missed an appliance somewhere!

    After youve checked then cold fault still present, then need to check when they are hot. Can keep you going for days all for £20

    Hi ant, have you tried to see what the total (standing)leakage is on the rcd ie with milliamp clamp meter. If its reasonably clear then perhaps buy some cheap plug in rcd adaptors & leave in a few days to see if a particular one trips

    Is there anthing external on RCD. Changing weather conditions especially with all this rain can cause probs.

    Ant,

    If only the rings are RCD'ed, then check the iron, and any antisurge type device (extension cords)/filters, etc.
