Sub floor framing

    Hi, im needing advice on building subfloor framework ie what size timber to use( floor depth is about 95mm ish) and what spacing should be between each lengh.

    Ive probably used the terminology. I have a room that was completely stripped out. The floor is concrete. The levels of the conncting rooms are about 95-100mm high

    You haven’t got enough depth for required depth of floor joists.

    Stick some kingspan or similar in there to build up the level and top it with tg4 ply and then your finished floor on top

    Do i need glue or screw the kinspan down?

    No, but you can get a t&g version, I have it in my workshop.
    Get what ever is available and to cost.
    So your 95 mm could be made up of 60mm kingspan 18mm tg4 ply and 14mm engineered flooring

    What’s the construction of the floors in the joining/adjacent rooms? Are the floor spaces ventilated in the adjacent rooms?
