Hi, new to this forum. Seems good so thought I’d give it ago.

I’ve installed a concrete lintel in place of an old rotten wooden one. The rotten lintel has caused the wall above it to drop on one side.

Also fitted a lintel a lot bigger than the wooden lintel.

this has left a gap between the lintel and brickwork above to be around 2” one side and about 3/4” the other side.

I now need to fill this gap ensuring the wall above is supported and tidy enough to keep the building inspector happy.

what’s the correct procedure to fill this gap?
Do I cut bricks to fit and then bang in some slate (with mortor of course)

or is there a better way that would look tidier that I’m not thinking about

    thanks in advanced

Not my area but I'll chip in with limited knowledge to bump post.

Go with slate ideas on one side and maybe cut block and slate on wider side gap
