Does anyone know if I have to remove the toilet pan in order to replace the syphon on a concealed cistern?

Rob - good morning. Is the cistern close coupled (sits on top of the pan)or lo level (connected by a flush pipe? )Either way no need to remove the pan, just the wood / mdf cistern coverings. Are you sure that the siphon wont split (uncouple) into two and you can withdraw the siphonic bit from the cistern in situ. Otherwise I'm afraid you'll have to separate the pan & cistern. No need to remove the pan though!!

If it's a concealed cistern then it will be a low level cistern.

It could be a syphon that you need to remove or it could be a flush valve which are very common in concealed cisterns.

If it's concealed behind specific bathroom furniture then you should gain enough access via the front fascia to remove the syphon/f.valve.

If it's a tiled boxing then you may well need to remove the Pan to gain enough access.
