Tall larder unit

To all the professional fitters out there-

I have purchased a 2300 mm tall larder unit for my kitchen (2150 unit + 150 legs). My ceiling height is 2350. I probably have another 10 mm extra to play with once the laminate flooring comes off. I would also need to fit a cornice of 33 mm. Is this possible to be fitted ? Any suggestions of how to approach this?

work the height of your units based on the lowest point of the floor and the height of your kick boards.

Thanks CGN.. Am a novice.. Coold you throw some light on that please?

no probs. If you haven’t fitted your kitchen yet, I set up a laser level at an arbitrary height, say 1m. I’ll then go around with a ‘staff’ along the run of units or where they will be, and find the lowest point of the floor. This will then be were I set out the height of the legs of the base units based upon the height of your kick board. Taking a real world example. Lets say you have a 4m run of units along a wall and your kick boards are 165mm high. Set laser to 1m/1000mm. You put your staff on the floor on the left 600mm out from the wall(roughly based on work top width) and make a mark to coincide with the laser. You move it 4m to the right and the floor happens to be 40mm lower. If you set out your legs on the LHS(to work with kick board height 165mm + 5mm), you would have a 40mm gap above your kick board on the RHS, so you set your legs to the lowest point, which is the RHS. You can then at least cut your kick board down to coincide with the discrepancy. Hopefully your floors are not that far out of level, but it does happen.

If its just an addition (apologies for my ramblings) then set the base to the height of the other units and hope you have enough height to fit the cornice/pelmet.

Thanx CGN. Have been breaking down your comment bit by bit for me to make head or tail. Well, the unit will be a prebuilt rigid unit with doors et al Pre fitted. There are two larders preceding a tall oven unit
