I am replacing the radiator but have to use extendable radiator tales because it’s an old size radiator that is being replaced and they no longer manufacture that size.

The extendable radiator tails bought from Screwfix have a parallel thread but the tails on the old radiator had a tapered thread. I am confused as to why the thread is not tapered and assume that I just have to put a lot of PTF tape on to make sure it doesn’t leak. Right?

If anyone can throw any light on the subject I’ll be interesting to hear. Thanks Alan

You will need to seal the threads with PTFE tape ,parallel or tapered ,makes no difference.
