So I'm trying to make a temporary dance floor for my kids to use while in lockdown.

I did think about putting laminate straight down on the carpet, but I'm worried I'll end up with too much movement - the pile isn't VERY deep, but it's still quite a soft carpet.

So now I'm considering using 18mm P5 floor boards 2400x600 as a base with laminate on top held in place with some carpet tape. Will probably use 6 or 8 floorboards to make an area approx 4800x1800-2400

Thoughts anyone - is there a cheaper way of doing this?
