Texecom Veritas 8 alarm installation

Hi

I've installed a Texecom Veritas 8 alarm panel.
The problem I'm having is with my PIN code. I can access the Programming menu using this code ( this is how I initially set the code from the default factory code ). Once in programming menu I can pretty much set my preferences and all is well.
However, once I set the alarm I am no longer able to disarm using my PIN code. The only way I can disarm is by using the Factory set Engineers code.
I'm getting pretty frustrated as Texecom support can't explain the issue. Could this be a software issue ?

Am I missing something here. I have a manual and have followed all the steps correctly.

Anyone have any ideas.

Thanks

Has it been registered with any external provider (wi-fi/GSM?) May need that doing first or switching from installer to user mode. Same difference if there’s and internal setting between the two.

From your description i’m guessing it is likely that the Engineer Code has been set as User and User as Engineer.
Engineer Code cannot unset the system however the Default user code still can!

I haven't setup a GSM

The panel no longer accepts the default user code 1234, as I've programmed my own code. My code allows me to access the Programming menu, however I've noticed I can also access the Programming menu using the Factory Engineer code.

There will be a way of hard resetting with jumpers or such like. Best start again and ensure you’ve done what you thought you had. A ball a€he but confirms wether there is an actual issue.

Enter what is currently thought of as the "User" code, press PROG and enter "11" (Program Zone 1 Type) - If you see LED 6 light up, then you are actually in ENGINEER mode.

You have got the codes mixed up. If you can program the system with a code then that is the engineer code and that code will not unset the system.

Thanks for this. I finally got this to work it appears I had changed the Engineer code PIN rather than the user code PIN.
