guys I am having a problem with keypad of texecom alarm as in the topic installed an alarm making mistake with tamper cable connection- diode "tamper" on the keypad has been displayed, I have sorted cables, powered the alarm, several bip's as it should be, diode "power" on, on display model name and time- all as it should be but ... keypad doesn't respond at all when pressing buttons they makes dial bip's but no changes on display any idea what might cause the problem? - have try unplugging battery - took keypad from the bracket- tamper switch activated the alarm but still wasn't able to use keypad - checked battery (as found on other forum that keypad might not work if battery is flat)- charged - checked if wires are connected properly still nothing, problem persist
It may be a problem with the addressing of the remote keypad (if you have one)? Check remote keypad addressing and set all DIP switches (on keypad) to OFF if main alarm unit does NOT have its own keypad. If main alarm unit does have its own keypad, then set remote keypad to address 2 DIP 4 ON. Hope this helps E the F
Thx for quick response I checked them yesterday and all were in off position set by manufacturer Main board with no keypad
Check that the Transmit Data of the main board is connected to the Receive Data of the remote key pad and Receive Data of main board is connected to Transmit Data of remote key pad Good Luck E the F
I would suggest that you remove the keypad from it's current location and physically take it to the control panel and re-connect using a short length of 4 core cable. This will eliminate any problem with your existing cable. If it still doesn't work you either have a faulty keypad or a faulty control panel.
Hi Vin thx for all your advise, have also contacted people from tex support and have similar direction from them: Thank you for emailing the clear pictures. "With all the dipswitches off at the keypad blue addressing dip switches and then powering up on the mains electricity first, then the battery next the keypad should operate correctly. Should the keypad still give concern, checking the keypad directly at the control panel on a shortcutting of cable, will check keypad, cable and panel." and he given me description how to restore system to the factory settings unfortunately can't do that in next few days but will update when is done Daniel
T to T, R to R, it's the same on all Tex's. As support suggest, short flylead to panel to confirm correct operation.
Thx for advise, Problem solved- just reset to the factory settings control unit and connecting AC first and next the battery Salute
