Vinyl flooring fitted this morning, it was quite tough too cut.

Plinth for shower tray. Done away with the one that came with the Mira riser kit as felt too flimsy. Made up my own with some upvc trim and used kitchen unit plinth locks to secure on the legs. Going to check everything for a few days until I click into place to make sure no water is getting by.

Shower screen has now been fitted. Not a good idea to used those sticky pads. Came and checked this morning and they must have pushd out due to the weight of the glass! Had to reseal all again. Panel is just sitting straight ontop of the tray. Its been sealed from outside with clear silicone.

Basin all fitted and sealed, it buts straight against the tiles. The taps were purchased from the SF warehouse clearance sale, taps good but don't like the cliker waste. But can't complain for £15!!

This is aclose pic of the basin it has a slim footprint and dosnt protrude too much.

Bought another waste, this one comes with a removable trap. Its a hi-flo and capable of 24 l/m.

Made good around the pipes on radiator a little tricky to do.

It comprises of: 1) power in, 2) switch wire, 3) Light fitting, 4) Fann isolator.

So the shower has it first use.

So much better than the electric shower, no more going to friend house for showers.

Checked under the tray for any signs of leaks.

    Found this:

A small leak was coming from the compression join on waste, now dissembled and replaced with new rubber washer.

Going to keep an eye on this for the next few days. So glad I went for a riser kit and not installed tray onto floor. The waste outlet in the center makes access easier.

    Another leak!

This time its in another place. Coming from the top of the waste. I did run plumbers silicone gold when i fitted the trap from above the tray.

Going to disassemble the trap and silicone the black rubber this time.

Again so glad I have the access.

    Other developments.

Fitted a stainless steel vent in the plinth, this allows some ventilation for the AAV to operate. Read somehwere that the hole needs to be the same size as the AAV, but 110mm hole will be too big.

    Reassembled the trap.

Going to give one last go.

In the meantime I have ordered a new trap from Amazon.

Should have stuck with know and trusted brands.

This one look a lot better and I think it can be stepped on?

Totally knackered after this project not easy doing on own, and stressful at times.

Taking a bit of rest now.

    Pleased with the outcome.

Not actually my bathroom but done for parents, so did all labour for free so they can get in and out more easily.
