Existing PME/TNS supply at service position.

Run a minimum of 10mm 3 core SWA cable to your external location, following all approved cable installation procedures.

Terminate in to a Metal Clad Dis-Brd.

Link SWA Earthing Tag to DB-1's MET with 4mm, despite it being a Metal Clad Dis-Brd. (Belts & Braces!)

Drop an Earth Rod in as close as possible to DB-1 and connect back to DB-1's MET with 10mm

Bond any metal services entering the remote building with 10mm

Bond any exposed metal framework of the building with 10mm

Resultant installation has an excellent Ze DB-1

Resultant installation is tied down to 'True Earth' at it's remote location thus avoiding any 'potential' problems!

Resultant installation avoids the need for expensive Time delayed RCD Split Boards!

thanks for that sine! Will cut and paste to my ref material folder in the company file. Just a question is this still just called a tncs pme system or is it now a tt/tncs/tns hybrid. I would just put tncs pme on the certs

Are you saying that the source is a PME'd TN-S system Sine? i.e. a TN-S system that has failed and has been PME'd therefore TN-C-S?

I think Sinewave meant that the supply is either TN-S or PME and can for purposes of this cleverly thought out exercise be treated the same..

    Maybe

Peng has interpreted my scribblings correctly.

This setup can be used for either a PME or a TNS system.

It is basically an extension of what virtually all DNO networks are anyway.

I mentioned about TNS and PME on the IET Forum - the other day, the reason for which was an info request from my DNO/REC.
