being retired and looking out the window and everywhere covered in snow.
Be careful out there this morning lads & lasses

  10. Pffft - some retired folk still have to take their wives and kids to work/school.

    (I only have one wife).

A few inches around here, beautiful soft crystally powdery stuff, and house road - hilly - was fun. A Mercedes driver had to reverse up the hill, and I was following a large truck with squealing double-rear tyres trying to get purchase as his back end fishtailed from side to side - some pretty impressive corrective steering going on.

Wee Picasso snuck in to 1st gear, foot off pedals and up she went with no issues.

Yeah not to deep here (Northwich) about a couple of inches, no need to venture out really but it appealed to the child in me, so took our Molly out she went daft in it, then put the dragon in the car and picked my daughter up at school after she dropped the kids off & headed to town, mum & daughter now shopping, think you can guess where I am having a Latte, on my Ipad & reading the paper, it’s all very relaxing, oh & our garden looks as good as anyone’s this morning ;)

We live at the end of a narrow lane about half a mile long, the school bus used to drop my children off at the main road end and normally they walked home. One snowy day I took my Land Rover and children's sledges to the end to meet the bus, I fastened the sledges onto the tow ball and slowly towed the children home on the sledges, they loved it. About halfway along the lane lived a childless couple who saw me passing their house and reported it to the village bobby. He phoned me and said "I have to speak to you but take no notice of the Potters, they are always complaining about something" That was about 20 years ago when we had proper village bobbies who knew everything about what was going on locally and when common sense prevailed. There's no village bobby now but spoilsport busybodies are still around, also countrywide common sense has disappeared to be replaced by political correctness.

Know where yer coming from Harry, I do believe due to your last statement about PC the usual suspects will be along shortly, there is a PC thread somewhere and it would be a shame if this life affirming thread (what really cheers you) were to be hijacked, I will just add I’m of the old school dare I say like yourself, but when something about PC crops up I will take it at face value and decide wether it’s just plain daft or it may have a point, mostly I find the issues just plain daft.

Hey harry take no notice mate Canon & Ball must be at a loose end at the mo :D

  17. Guess what, 'arry - we have summat in common. We have both tied a sledge to the back of our car (in my case a Dutton Melos) and scooted up and down a t'single-track road, with a yoof on t'sledge fishtailing wildly from side to side. I bet I went faster than you. I did I did.

I wasn't reported. But had I been, the bobby would almost certainly have warned me about the risks and perils and spoiled my fun. And I would have grudgingly have accepted that he was right.

And I'd have gotten over it by now.

What a weird world you live in, 'arry. It must be befittingly miserable.

Only a small pleasure this but yesterday bought 3 Meat & tator pies from Birtwistles in Northwich (they make the nicest pies I’ve ever tasted) so Dragon daughter & myself head home for pie & mushy peas, tasted as good as the finest fillet steak it just hit the spot.

Word of warning never warm em up in the Micro, always the oven, then off to the park with Molly & a flask of Bovril, doesn’t get much better :):):D

  20. You ever thought of getting facebook facs?

You could post on there, every time you set out the door, or have something to eat
