Hi We used to have a wall mounted TV but it is replaced by a larger free standing one. About 2 foot above the TV is a 1 gang box with two cat6 data points one of which is necessary for the TV and the other is used occasionally. Rather than dig into the wall us there a neat paintable way to bring these down behind the TV and minimise their appearance? Hubby can extend the cable OK. There is a lot of trunking and plates but nothing that seems to fit the bill easily. A 'blanking plate' with cable exit going into neat trunking seems to be the option but I can't see one like that. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks Suzanne
D-line do some decorative trunking in various colours: https://www.screwfix.com/p/d-line-pvc-magnolia-tv-trunking-50mm-x-25mm-x-1-5m-2-pack/45315 You could replace the sockets with a flex outlet and run the additional CAT6 cable down to the TV through the trunking: https://www.screwfix.com/p/schneider-electric-lisse-25a-unswitched-flex-outlet-plate-white/7861j Remove the existing CAT6 keystone jack from the socket and couple to the longer CAT6 cable in the backbox.
If whoever done the installation done a decent job they would have put the cables in oval conduit or capping. If the cables are coming upwards you can break into the conduit and pull the cables out. If you do not want to cut out a flush box, fit a surface one.
