Could anyone tell me please how to keep these bloody slate tiles on the board behind the wood burner. They seem ok for about 3 months then fall off, I have used tile adhesive, dot & dab mix and the special fire heat resistant silicon & grouted with normal grouting.Yet they still fall off.
What's the best board to put on the wall before tiling & whats the best adhesive to use. Tiles are 300mm x 300mm x 6mm slate.
As always all help is greatly appreciated.

Remove any board material, render the brickwork, then tile

  3. We've got ours rendered then tiled - fixed with normal tile adhesive (and the wood burners gotten so hot it's destroyed the cast iron plates inside) and the tiles are fine after 2 years.Tiles are only 4 inch behind the back of the burner.
