tiling on top of vinyl tiles/floor

    got a bathroom floor to tile, there are some really old vinyl tiles down underneath some lino, im taking the lino up but the vinyl floor tiles look well stuck down (onto floor baords) do they need to come up or? what adhesive should I use for going over the top of them, like I said its a wooden floor with the vinylk tiles on top? cheers

    get down 2 B&Q...they will sort u oot with all u need..tiles..addy..grout...:):O
















    only kiddin ply over with 18mm prime it...screw it..:)..flexy grout an addy...stay away fae b&pee..:):)O

    agree with u there GKU does get a bit off a pain in the rectum..when as u say just browsing thro the forum u get all the info u need..:):)..but there is muppets an then some..:x all enjoy ur w/end...

    if you go down to topps tiles you need 2 get bal apd primer to prime the marley tiles then use a 2 part flex adheseve called bal fast flex the superflex grout you will be fine then alot easyer than plying in :)

    :O - Really , and what happens when the floorboards move then , the adhesive and grout may well be "flexible" but it ain't bloody rubber mate , he'll have tiles popping up all over the show , <u>ALWAYS</u> overboard with ply (or the newer alternatives ) - you must have a rigid , solid substrate to tile onto and there is too much individual movement in floor boards , do the job right in the first place and you won't get any comebacks ;)

    put 9mm ply over floor screw down every ware then tile over

    Nah , absolute MINIMUM 12mm ply , 9mm is not rigid enough
