Can I lay ceramic floor tiles onto a concrete screed that has been coated with black bitumastic paint??

As to why it's been painted, I've no idea - having dug a couple holes in the screed, there's no water penetration or damp at all.

  2. Yes , tiling onto bitumen bases is possible.

You'll probably need to use a prime and also a flexible adhesive.

Best bet is to give a tech dept a ring, I tend to use BAL adhesives, their tel no. is 0845 600 1 222

BAL Gold Star, no priming required.

  5. Thanks for the feedback
