Hello guys, hoping to get some advice on this. Recently got our patio done. The guy who did it messed up the rendering of the low level retaining wall. The k-render he used was of the thin type and because he did a poop job of the base coat, the k-render is all un evenly spread with lumps and bumps and ridges all over... Please see picture.

We are now planning to cover up the mess with split-face porcelain tiles.
We attempted to remove the render but it wouldn't come off easy. Would scoring through the render to the block help (using an angle grinder)?

    Thank you
    Ash

    Thats pretty horrible.
Getting krend off is a pig. If you score it into 2inch strips you'll be better able to chisel it off. Got an sds drill? Might be worth the investment.
Also if you have to do the patio side, get hold of a bit of carpet to put down to protect the floor surface.

Thanks Rosso. But would it be ok if I tiled on top of it without removing it?

I honestly don't know. Whack a gob of tile adhesive to your wall, and see if if sticks
