    I’ve done this wrong!
My question is can it be done?
Where would I find someone to retile over my painted original 1930s fire place.
It looks ok painted but would really like the wow factor of shiny tiles.
    Thanks

Is that a photo of your actual fireplace or an example?

Most fireplaces that are tiled the tiles will be recessed, so they are flush with surround.

Black leading can look classy, when it's been buffed up to a slight sheen.

    It’s the actual fireplace

Well any decent builder or average ceramic tiler could tile over that for you, but they'd have to fit chrome L trim around the edges to hide the exposed tile edges and adhesive.
