Afternoon all. I’m converting a cupboard under my stairs into a toilet and am getting ready to plasterboard. Because it’s under the stairs, I’m wondering if I can trim the staircase under the stairs to be able to attach a level piece of plasterboard. What are your thoughts? Hopefully that makes sense

Why not fit plasterboard up inside the run coving around or wood trim to hide the stairs wood side bits.

You thinking of taking 15mm off or something?

I’d rather not have plasterboard inside the run because then you’ll still see the staircase. Would rather have it hidden. Will it have any impact on it if I shave a bit off?

As long as enough wood under treads to support it will be fine
