TT 2rods 2 Ze???

    Hi have a CU change existing Ze 180ohms not acceptable for CU change. Cant find rod could be under concrete floor so cant guarantee condition etc
    So adding another rod & 6mm to MET, so do i class Ze of new rod etc as Ze or am i allowed to use both? baring in mind i can guarantee condition of the first rod & cable as it disapears in conduit in concrete floor?

    I'd go for a new rod (10mm conductor personally) & record that as the Ze as you say you cant verify the old one.

    me personally ant would install new rod and get rid of old rod! it cannot be traced, inspected, tested etc so has to go!

    or you could if ya want install new rod, record Ze on that rod! then parallel it for supplementary purposes ;)

    Thats what i was thinking as seems a waste to cut cable.
    But thanks a problem shared is a problem halved!

    Just stick new Rod and Pit in lud and eeee by gummm everything is ok..ermmmm hopefully..

    I was tought at college that the cable to the rod had to be 16mm. I wouldnt run 6mm if i were you.

    What you may of misheard was relating to the actual csa of the rod.. Brown book, Table 54A p113
