Tumbler dryer and washing machine, same circuit

My tumbler dryer and washing machine are on the same circuit, 4mm cable to two 13a fused spurs.

Ive moved my divider back box and stupidly extended the 4mm cable with 2.5 cable.

    Is this a major issue?

Depends on the power ratings of each device.
For long term safety the key here is fuses. The fuse back at the fuse box is probably too big for the 2.5mm2 cable. If you reduce the fuse in the fuse box to allow for the reduced cable size then you will be fine. Problem is that you may exceed the rating of that fuse if your devices use more than that, so, honestly it would just be easier to replace the section of 2.5mm with 4mm.

Get a heat pump drier. They are like 600W and will cost a quarter as much to run.

Will see how we get on with current setup. There will be only be a potential issue if they are both on at the same time. Which is not very often

If the MCB is a 20amp, it’s fine. If it’s a 32amp, you need to sort it.

Modern washers and dryers should not be larger than 2.3kW, 10amp.
