Ugly external around-the-door stormguard

Hi, we have a front door with stormguard pinned all round it. It's gold/brass coloured and looks really ugly. However, it seems to be very effective. Our close is soon to be decorated and the door will be repainted. I'm not yet sure of the colour (we're owners in a close that's factored by a housing association) but I want to address the stormguard.
Is there an alternative to this type of seal that is hidden?
If there isn't an alternative, I'll get new stormguard in white if the door is painted white and silver if not, but I'd prefer not to see it!
Can't afford a new door...

Stormguard are a good retro fit for surface fixing. Integrated seals and excluders would need machining of the door and frame. There are slim storm guard profiles available and not too obtrusive

this is what mine looks like. Hi Mark, thanks for getting back. Could you possibly link me to the type of product you're referring to?

I was thinking about this kind of thing. Used to fit lots for the local authority. Those ones were smaller still than this one and the rubber butted up to the door rather than lying slightly across the door surface. Cant locate that type but will keep looking. This one from toolstation. Maybe a smaller profile than yours Screenshot_20240916_213004_Toolstation.jpg

reddiseals EPDM adhesive gasket may be an option. Bit of an out of the box thought but I use it as a compression gasket in glazed frames and rooflights etc. It's available in 3mm which when compressed would reduce to 1.5 - 2mm.
It's self adhesive and could be stuck in the frame rebate allowing the door to compress it when closed. All you would see from the outside would be a thin black/ white/brown line. Just a thought :)

These are also available with white rubber seals so may well look a bit better than the black seal - although guess does depend on door colour also

The white seal version doesn’t seem to be widely stocked for some reason, think the last one I bought was from Homebase

fitted for the mother in law, lovey wooden front door thats decades old and in good condition, other than a slight warp towards the bottom which this seal deals with as has oval screw holes for seal adjustment
