    Evening all,

Am I missing something ?? Can someone point me in the right direction to tracking down untreated 6x2 timber? Must have called at least 7 places today no luck.

In the Essex Suffolk board area

    cheers

Have you tried a local saw mill ?

I buy mine from a local one that sells everything untreated, with the option of kiln dried or cut to order from stacked round timber. (ie. green timber)
    Great to work with

You definitely need an actual timber merchant rather than a builder's yard.
There must be loads in the Essex area, here's one to try depending on location.

Timber frame extensions and roof construction. The one I’m on at the moment I am having to build completely from Treated timber as I couldn’t wait any longer trying to source.

Just for my own curiosity - why does it need to be untreated? Is it just for cost?

Cost mainly (maybe but if I can find any...... lol) especially with the way timber prices are going......

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but i'm trying to get hold of untreated 16 x 2 boards (furniture project) - can't find any timber merchants who stock this (i'm based in NW London)

I used to live in Chelmsford and was a big fan of Gards.

They're the ones who used to cause absolute gridlock in the town centre every time a delivery arrived!

They're now in a much better warehouse in East Hanningfield
