I am going to fit some upstand at the back of the workbench.

    What would people recommend?

I want to used brass screws with cups. My wife doesn't like the idea.

I look forward to hearing the views of professionals.

    Thanks

My view is that you should agree with your wife because if you don't.......
Do you mean a kitchen worktop or something else? How tall, what material etc, etc? It's a little vague to give you a definitive means of fixing at the moment.

If your on about kitchen upstand then gap filling adhesive is the way to go. You need to photograph the area that ur looking at. To do it properly you need mechanical support to pull it up whilst it sets.

Modern grab adhesive and braced for a few hours or overnight. Screws and cups will look very old fashioned...unless that's the look you're going for :)
