A new boiler because of a popped PCB? Get real JP. If the OP swaps the PCB for £45, he's got a bargain. Double check your wiring the next time round though!
I have learnt my lesson next time I will ask an expert. That is why I become member here. I wish I knew this site before. Thanks
Is this the same circuit board I found cheaper but no guarantee ? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/262226165361?_mwBanner=1
Good job we're not discussing mine then JP, an old Glow Worm from the mid 70's! We've been here since '87 and all I've done is replaced the cast iron heat exchanger once due to leakage and changed the thermocouple 2 or 3 times! No electronics or microprocessor carp to go wrong! Probably not as economical as a later one but when offset against repair & servicing costs of the newer one I reckon i'm quids in!
Seconded. The cost of a new boiler takes years and years and years to recoup through its efficiencies if you've already got one that just needs a new PCB. My 80s Potterton is only getting replaced when it disintegrates.
Agreed Stateit, too much stuff gets scrapped these days on the pretext of it being more economical, better for the environment and all that old carp!
After I bought £45 circuit board everything back to normal working perfectly. Thanks to all involved. Appricate all your views.
