Phone round 3 or 4 time-served Gas Safe RGIs, ask how much they charge per hour & their experience of your type of appliance. Select one & you'll be up & running again in no time.

The most common fault with the Vaillant boiler is the Divertor mechanism, although other things can influence no domestic hot water on a Combi. As you say the heating is fine and you can get some hot water when heating on.
My money would be on the Divertor, approx 45 mins work including the necessary 'Safety checks' whilst handling the 'Gas Appliance'.
    Hope this will help.
