    A friend who has broadband and telly from Virgin cable wants another telly in his bedroom, can you split the feed to do both or does he need another box?

    Yes you can, but you will obviously only be able to watch the same channel that's on in the main room, split it after the box, before the main TV.

    Do you just fit a Y into the feed?

    If it using F Type connectors, then use one of these.

    If its just a normal coaxial fitting then a y piece should work.
