Do you think if France becomes very right wing and expels all the Brits, that I could just get myself smuggled to the Italian border, and claim asylum?
I was heading for a caravan on the isle of wight, but Alan whatshisface is scuppering my chances with his "jewel of the south" series.

Are there still Brits in France? I thought they were sent back after Brexit, apart from gammon faced arch Brexiter Andrew Neil who is now stuck there:)

I think there was a last minute rush for derelict chateaus - France has more converted chateaus than we have Holiday Inns since the Brits arrived.

I'm told several regions have become "little Englands"

Actually that's an interesting thought. If all our Old farts that escaped to Europe's holiday destinations before brexit, (and are receiving free health care in those places), were repatriated and all our immigrants that came as a result of free movement throughout Europe, were likewise repatriated
.....what would be the relative cost/benefit analysis ?

He sounds jealous.
Well let’s just take a look and analyse that quote. Here I am touring throughout Europe living the best life I can and on my way to Lithuania. Now can you honestly say with your hand on your heart that I could possibly be jealous ?

It is grim in parts, I spent some time just south of Le Mans, there are villages that are partly taken over, further south there are villages with no one left which is strange to experience, I drove through one a few times before stopping to investigate, I thought at first it was just a really quiet village, not a soul, houses and shops boarded up, eery, at the time you couldn't go anywhere without an old farmer offering you property to buy, they just wanted cash to retire, the irony is that it is a beautiful place.

Now that is adventurous, if a very attractive girl in Lithuania approaches you and there are two scary looking dudes not far away trying to look not connected, speak to her in Russian or you will be taking a very different type of tour:)

I am there to advertise and to promote my new play Alan. I will be perfectly safe.

Well I'd say, paying for Brit's to live abroad is a drain on the UK tax payer, and not having Euoropean seasonal workers is a drain on the economy, but the voting majority seems to disagree.

You should be fine, the local police generally make sure there are no criminal types waiting for a fresh disembarkment of naive Brits, just don't stand out and you should make it back in time for the all you can eat buffet.

Why is it that Scots get everywhere? Scots and Australians...... But you can understand it with Australians, it's a big country

I did wonder why there were a gaggle of armed police at every port Bright stops at. LOL

If the fruit farmers have to rely on cheap foreign labour to pick their fruit then they are not paying enough to entice the many students that used to do that type of work before the influx of Eastern Europeans that the farmers decided to favour in order for them to make a better profit at the expense of our own workers then how could anyone have any sympathy for them.

Ah, for a moment there I thought perhaps a rowing boat was lowered into the sea and that you were piped aboard by a crew of HMS navy. From where you can stand at the prow sporting your Tricorne hat, as you're rowed towards and gently brought to rest in a sandy cove.

No Carol the only nautical part of this tour is that I am navigating by the stars using only an 18th century sextant. I like to be as different as possible
