Well it started with an event called the Highland clearances, ok I'll spare you shame of oppressive nationhood:)

The main reason, similarly to the Irish, and apart from a shared history of escape from English tyranny, is popularity and all round friendliness, the celtic types are just more welcomed, in communities as much as in pubs, we have a humility that people connect with, and a willing interest in other peoples ways, if for example, you meet a Scottish or Irish person you will notice they typically try to find things in common with you, this is not just a random habit, it is the inherent custom of the conquered, it's a survival strategy, they need to know if you ar friend or foe, you will notice this tiny invisble trait in a more pronounced way in countries that have survived upeaval or injustice, listen for it and it's there, then listen to the average Brit in the same circumstance.
I'll give you a real scenario, Castlevechio in Tuscany, I arrive at a coffee shop in time for the noon bells to sound from hill top villages across the gorge, the priest serving me(it's part of a church) asks where I am from, I say Scotland and strike up a lively conversation, I'm fussy with coffee and that also takes some time, cafe doppio e con latte has to be just right he tells me, this is normal in Italy, introductions and general chat is part of it all and anyone can join in, but sitting right beside me is an English couple with a different outlook on life, they had been sitting waiting and this was making their wait longer, not just but also they percieve it to be rude and they said so, we both apologise and I offer to pay for their coffee, they decline, and in that declining and misunderstanding of just the normal customs they set themselves apart, to sit in silence with their faces tripping them while all around we resume in enjoying the joy of human interaction, they could have accepted our apologies and joined in had lunch on me and been stuck there all day but no, their coffee didn't arrive on time and this was unnacceptible, therefore they must, by habit of nation, go in a very bad mood:)

I ditched the dangerous tour for the amazing European extravaganza tour and decided to concentrate on promoting my latest original play instead of seeking out dangerous animals

I think this is a wise decision, you are clearly more the creative type that enjoys an audience than overland adventurer, have you decided what the play is about?

Another thing I noticed is - where is Bazza spark?

Here we go again :mad::mad::mad:, we get to be held responsible for sharing geography with the same people who oppressed you - in between their main occupation and pre-occupation of oppressing us.
This is a matter of a class system and class related oppression.
I am not responsible, and refuse to be held responsible for the behaviour of those with whom I have nothing in common, and I suspect of being direct descendants of William the Conqueror.
Furthermore you may consider yourself the recipient of a wet and robust, deafening raspberry !!!
I'm off to join Bazza in a sulk !
 
I think Carol is going to put me through the mincer for that last post, I'm off to find something inconspicuous to do.

That wasn't actually anything to do with politic, more the outward cultural expression of socio historic identity:)

Camp Barry is not in a sulk. He is now banned for eternity, he says he won’t be back but none of us are falling for that one. He says it all of the time. In fact his favorite saying is “I am done” usually followed by the word “Bye” so fear not Camp Barry will return but not right now.

Camp Barry once again has tried to be more like me and failed miserably. He was trying to become a Super Member but unfortunately my advice to him fell on deaf ears and he received another ban. Fear not he will return even though his last flounce was “I am done” again

Yes of course I know what my latest play is about. I wouldn’t be traveling all over Europe promoting it otherwise. My last book was an absolute classic and massive worldwide. It was entitled “Harry Porter” an electrician that became a wizard. A master piece as it was described.

It’s as good as you can get and your part is of a simpleton that is struggling to come to terms with the hand that life has dealt him. I rise above the pair of you where people love me and just want to hear me and see me. The pair of you struggle with my popularity and get yourselves into all sorts of problems accepting this. It’s a great play that people will be thrilled by.
