Wall insulation

    Hi,

We have a single brick wall (cupboard), probably what use to store coal in the past, in our garage, which backs onto our kitchen. It's an extension, flat roof.

I use the cupboard for tools.

It gets very cold in the kitchen and we had problems with mildew and condensation, despite and extractor fan and two radiators.

Although it could be that the flat roof has no insulation (there's a wood panel roof in the kitchen), we think the single brick wall is the cause of the cold temperature.

I've seen block panels of insulation which normally go inbetween wall cavities, but I wondered if pin or glue some panels to the wall?

Can anyone give me some suggestions, about what I should use and how to fix it?

I'm looking for something cost effective.

I'm guessing adding breeze blocks would be another idea, but I'm less keen on this idea.

    Best regards,

    Jules.
