    Good afternoon all

Our new build property in Didcot has a ThermaQ Indirect Unvented Storage Cylinder with External Expansion Vessel. It's working just fine, producing hot water and there's no discharge from the Turndish Valve.

However, it often makes thumping noises, as if someone's knocking at our door! Googling around says it's a build-up of sediment.

Can anyone recommend how I can resolve this? A suggestion of draining the tank was made, how is this done exactly? Do i need to isolate the power & cold water to the tank first?

Basically, can I have an idiots guide to fixing this problem please?

    Thank you in advance

For those that don`t know, Didcot is a hard water area.
