What type of sealer is required to paint tape and joint plasterboard?

I decided to tape and joint T/E plasterboard instead of plastering for the first time. What type of sealer do I need to seal the walls before painting? The Siniat joint filler will be more porous than the plasterboard surface. I've seen people mention using a mist coat of watered down emulsion, does that work?

Is this No Nonsense Primer & Undercoat 2.5Ltr the correct stuff?

    Thanks.

Writing a reply solely to "bump" the thread back up to the top of the front page, and generate more interest.

Odd as the times I've seen him / her do it they were not the original poster of the thread.

'Bump' is forum slang for bringing a topic to the top of the list

On the original topic - I used Zinsser "Gardz" after confirming with some professionals on here, worked perfectly.

Bad enough when the OP deploys the ‘bump’ because they haven’t received immediate free advice :rolleyes:

That No Nonsense is good stuff and add 20% water will so the job fine. Not much information and guides on it as they (sf) are getting it from France from large manufacturer and selling at sensible money.

You can also use beeline sealer, gardz, and a few other products. Just pick one

    LOL :D

I read the post and couldn’t honestly answer it so wrote ‘bump’ instead. I’ve caused quite a stir by the look of things

Well the person had asked a fair few days ago. I wondered if their post had been overlooked by accident.

Don’t think I’ve done anything especially wrong. At least Wayners has responded with some advice :)

Thank goodness for that, I was worried that we were contractually obligated to drop whatever we were doing and answer every post :)

I didn't sign the contract, I read what is in the small print. ;)

Wow. That is not what I meant at all. Feel as though I’ve done something really terrible here.

I didn’t want to ignore the posters after reading their posts so just tried to help them. I answered the posts I could and the other ones which I couldn’t, I bumped because I saw they had been left unanswered for a bit.

Perhaps it’s me but I always found people here sincere and kind.

And for what it’s worth, the OP has been seen since an hour after originally starting the thread, probably traumatised at the lack of an immediate response

I had explained my motives for ‘bump’ on threads I did it on. Nothing malicious or antagonistic was meant by it nor was I attempting to anger or upset anyone by doing it.

On other unrelated forums I’ve seen people bump posts when they don’t know the answer to something but feel others may do. I’ve not witnessed an uproar because of it.

Perhaps it’s lockdown and people’s tempers are frayed. I don’t believe I have ever shared a cross word with anyone on this site and if I ever have I apologise. I’ve always liked it here and people have been very helpful and knowledgeable.

Think i’ll give this forum a bit of a break. Sad day.

Nah, I’m not giving it a break. Sorry if people have got the hump but I’m not going to sit back and be bullied unnecessarily when my intentions came from a good place. Sod ya.
